To add a new assignment, click on the “Add an assignment” button to load the assignment form.
On the add a new assignment form you will see:
Title – This will become the name of the folder that is created on the recipient’s OneDrive.
Instructions – Can contain any free text that you want to add to the assignment. It can be detailed instructions of the task you want the recipient to complete, or could simply be something like: "Answer the questions attached."
Subject – the subject you are teaching. This, along with the Title will form part of the folder hierarchy on users’ OneDrives.
TIP: If your Subject list is too long, you can manage it on your Settings page. See Subject manager for more information.
Due date and Due time – to give the Students an assignment deadline.
Grade/marking format – choose the assessment method of your assignment. These can be customised: see Marking Format for more information.
Recipients – you can choose any combination of classes where you are the teacher, your private groups or individual users from across your school.
Add files – look through your OneDrive and add files to this assignment by pressing the + next to the file. You can also check that it is the correct file by clicking on the name and opening it directly in Office 365.
Save as Draft - If you have not finished filling out the assignment form or you would like to send it at a later date, click on Save as Draft.
Save and Send - this will send the assignment to all of the recipients you have selected. Students will recieve an email with details and instructions regarding the location of the assignment and how to submit their work back to the teacher.
Once the assignment has been sent, you will be redirected to the collection page for that assignment.
